New York, NY -- Officials at the Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association (BHMA) today reminded potential applicants that the deadline for applying for the 2000 scholarship sponsored by BHMA and the Education Foundation of the Door & Hardware Institute (DHI) is Friday, June 30.

The scholarship to a DHI Technical School of the winner’s choice is open to anyone who has been employed by a contract hardware distributor for at least 6 months and is actively working at least 25 hours per week.

The scholarship award covers standard tuition, hotel room (shared) and group meals associated with DHI Technical School participation. The award can be used for any Technical School scheduled between November 1, 2000 and December 31, 2001.

The winner, to be selected by an independent committee, will be announced during the DHI’s annual convention in San Francisco in early September.

The BHMA/DHI scholarship is awarded in memory of Adon H. Brownell, DAHC, a highly respected hardware consultant, educator and author who served the industry with distinction for more than 50 years.
