BHMA SELECTS REX E. NEWCOMER OF E.E. NEWCOMER ENTERPRISES, INC AS 2007 AWARD OF EXCELLENCE RECIPIENT
New York, NY(September 21, 2007) — The Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association (BHMA) has announced that Rex E. Newcomer, president and chief executive officer of E.E. Newcomer Enterprises, Inc./D H Pace, is BHMA’s 2007 Award of Excellence recipient. The annual award, now in it’s 19th year, is given to a non-BHMA member who is a distributor or hardware professional who has demonstrated excellence in representing the needs of architects, contractors, users and manufacturers.
“D H Pace has been an invaluable contributor to the construction hardware industry,” said Ralph Vasami, director of codes and regulatory affairs for BHMA. “Their participation and commitment to education in our field is unmatched across the board.”
D H Pace, which is part of the E.E. Newcomer Enterprises, Inc. parent company in Kansas City, MO, has been involved in all industry levels, including code compliance, furthering education for its employees and construction professionals, establishing good business practices and demonstrating exemplary moral values in the community.
D H Pace recently completed fire door inspections at nearly 100, K-12 buildings to ensure that they met code requirements; established D H Pace University in 2005 to provide training for its 800 employees across the country; and were honored with the Heart of America Ethics in Business Award in 2006, for its E. E. Newcomer Enterprises Foundation, which provides grants to those individuals who are less fortunate, disadvantaged and in crisis.
Rex Newcomer will be honored during the Door Hardware Institute (DHI) 32nd Annual Conference and Exposition in Nashville, TN, in October. BHMA President Helen Rose will present Newcomer with the award.
