New York, NY(September 9, 2008) — The Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association (BHMA) announces the publication of ANSI/BHMA A156.32 – Integrated Door Assemblies.
ANSI/BHMA A156.32 establishes requirements for Integrated Door Opening Assemblies with steel, wood and fiberglass reinforced doors, which are supplied to the customer with integral hardware. At a minimum, they shall include a door, frame, hanging device, and latching mechanism.
Tests include cycling, hinge wear, slam, door twist and closer overload. The tests in this new standard were selected to verify the performance and interaction of the door/frame/hardware assembly in a way not covered in their component standards. Hardware components are required to meet their respective BHMA standards.
